Small Business Recovery Grants

Small businesses are an essential part of our local economy. They not only create jobs opportunities, but build community prosperity and neighborhood vibrancy. That's why serving small and micro businesses has been a cornerstone of Cooperative Federal's mission for more than 40 years. 

We're proud to announce the winners of our 2024 Small Business Recovery Grant (SBRG) Program. Eleven great member businesses received awards, ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, thanks to funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of NY. Congrats to this year’s awardees!

2024 Awardees

A total of $50,000 was granted to the following awardees, providing critical assistance with business start-up, expansion, and stabilization amid challenging economic conditions.

We're committed to concentrating grant resources in communities with the greatest need, and serving business owners that are currently and historically marginalized by mainstream lenders. In 2024, 90% of SBRG funds went to businesses owned and controlled by people of color, and 90% went to businesses owned and controlled by women.

How it Works

Your small business or non-profit may qualify for up to $10,000!* Here's what you need to apply:

• A copy of your Legal Entity Documents (such as your articles of incorporation, DBA filing certificate, or 501(c)(3) designation letter)
• Documentation of your Current Number of Employees (such as a payroll report, NYS-45, or similar report)
• Financial statements or tax returns for the 2 most recent completed fiscal years (for-profit applicants only)
• Current Year Operating Budget or similar (non-profit applicants only)

Once you have these files, the application should take less than 30 minutes to complete. Keep an eye out for our next call for applications or reach out to our Small Business Team if you have questions!

*Grant guidelines are determined annually by the Federal Home Loan Bank of NY. Funding is limited and additional selection criteria may apply. Eligibility is determined and winners are selected at the discretion of Cooperative Federal.
